A snowshoe walk is a new form of wintertime leisure activity, an option of communing with nature and admiring fantastic mountainous landscapes from places otherwise inaccessible in winter. Following hiking trails in summer is a standard procedure, why not do the same in winter? The Massif of Śnieżnik is friendly and safe in this respect, a dense network of roads and well-marked trails allows hikers to discover this area also in the winter scenery. Fastening snowshoes onto comfortable winter boots, we gain a broad platform which prevents us from sinking in deep snow, this way allowing us to reach sites which are difficult to get to at this time of the year. A snowshoe adventure is a new activity and a way to have fun in winter. Walks in light terrain under the careful tuition of an instructor offer a possibility of becoming acquainted with the gear and the technique.

Centrum Śnieżnik Międzygórze offer

We offer snowshoes from a French manufacturer TSL, which we select to match everyone individually. We have models for both the youngest users with the weight up to 20 kg, but also big models for larger adventure-seekers bearing the weight of up to 130 kg. The snowshoes may be attached to practically any type of boots, although we do recommend mountain hiking footwear. The set may be supplemented with sticks which improve the sense of balance and make handling the snowshoes easier.

The staff of the all-year-round GOPR station in Międzygórze have also been provided with professional equipment: quads, snowmobiles, a Land Rover Defender, and – obviously - appropriate medical supplies in order to guarantee maximum safety to tourists. Inour mountains hikers may feel safe since they are in good care of professionally trained rescuers. The investment was partly subsidised by the EU in the frames of the Dolnoslaskie Regional Operational Programme.

We wish our visitors only safe and well-advised mountain treks, should anything unexpected happen, however, our GOPR Rescue and Search Service Station at ul. Śnieżna 23c may be contacted 24/7 all year round.
